I took my car to G&M because my transmission was slipping. Gary knew right away what was wrong. They got my car in that day and it was fixed in 2 days. They gave me a 3 year warranty too! Dawn was very friendly and Gary really knew what he was talking about regarding cars. If you need anything transmission related, definitely go to G&M!
Unfortunately, car problems are something we all have to deal with. This is one facility I'd use again.
On 6/14/17, my son had issues with his car. We thought it was the water pump. The girl said I might also need a belt. Nope...only the water pump.
Everyone is very nice, and I feel that this facility is honest.
My automatic 2008 Escape came down with the notorious and dreaded 2-4 gear loss. I dropped the car off with G&M Auto Repair for a *gulp* full rebuild. The car drives like it always has, good as new. The price quoted up front was the out the door price on the invoice. They got me back on the road in no time, even during a holiday week! Great honest service! Several hundred dollars less for a full rebuild than I was quoted to only fix the problem elsewhere! Will definitely bring my car for service here again.
G&M Auto screwed up my co-workers SUV by diagnosing and replacing a unrelated part for over a $1,000.00. She then brought it to another mechanic in Joliet who fixed the hesitation for $300 which turned out to be a shorting spark plug wire so she had hime do a tune up. Now o more issues. For the record, I have no personal grind with them but word of moth experience is most accurate so do yourself a financial favor and stay away G&M Auto Service Inc.
Stay away! The owner Gary will give you the runaround. Many fasteners were loose and missing. You see I'm not the typical customer. I usually do all my own work however do to the requirement to drop the engine cradle, I decided to give the job to G & M. What a horrible experience. Now we are having battery ground issues where the car won’t start. I'm guessing that an engine\transmission to chassis ground wasn't reattached. Gary, to your response bellow and for clarification, this is Bruce as I'm sure you already know and the problem is, I don't trust you to touch the car at this point. You still haven’t delivered on the bracket you promised and have been giving us the runaround that you have it, ordered it, etc. We are re-disputing with the credit card company and are seriously considering legal action at this point. Gary, if you are a stand up business, resolve this!
Several years ago, I took my van into another place for an oil change. I came out with $2000 worth of problems. I met the owner of G&M and when they inspected my van, I only had 1 problem...not 5. The cost was cheaper also.
